Re: 2016 Crosstrek Advice

Re: 2016 Crosstrek Advice
It's a good point and I like what you did with your Crosstrek.
Do you know when they will be ready with options you mention?
I will probably place an order for a black 2016 Crosstrek hybrid this week.
To be fair, are there other places besides LP Adventure doing good Crosstrek packages in Montreal?
Thanks

Re: 2016 Crosstrek Advice
Before you invest, you need to define what your ultimate goal is. Seeing that you have basic knowledge about cars, if you would like more power, the safest way to do so would be to get stock power levels which best suit your needs/wants.
Lachute was mentionned earlier and do very good work, and SwapShop is a very reputable shop known quite well here on the MSC. I've had Swapshop work on both my LGT and STI and was always happy with the results and service.
https://www.montreal-subaru-club.com/ms ... 37&t=58997" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Furthermore, cars are typically not investments. They are money pits. Enthusiast here are willing to spend
to get their toys just the way they like them because they have disposable income. If you will be up to your neck in payments I strongly recommend you reconsider your purchase.
Like others have said, the better "stock" combination of power and ground clearance would steer you to the XT's, which are a solid platform to build on.
5000$ is a nice budget to begin modding with. Most people wont have that kind of money to dump into a car right after purchasing it. Realize that power mods will most likely void your warranty. So modding on a new vehicle while trying to maintain your warranty can be tricky. It can really depend on which dealership your dealing with, but most are anal and unreasonable when it comes to mods.

I somewhat agree with Yves. I think you can get better handling and a smoother ride to a certain extent. But once you start looking for even more grip, you will start to sacrifice comfort. You can't have it all when it comes to cars. Unless you have a second car... lolYves B a écrit :for me these two words don't really fit together.... but I'm far to be an expert !!Beginner a écrit :"better handling," "and smoother ride" - is this possible?

Re: 2016 Crosstrek Advice
After test driving a Crosstrek (not hybrid) today, talking to the dealer, doing some research online, considering your points here, I am not going to do any mods for lift, suspension, etc. It's good as it is and I don't want mess with the warranty or trade-in option.
I am going to do exterior work as well as tires/rims, steering wheel, etc.
I got in touch with LP and will also contact Swap Shop.
I will order a black Crosstrek sport package and do a green theme (emblem, fender covers, wipers, etc.
Some chrome, some moulding, etc.

I know it sounds odd but this emerald green in moderation and well placed is a cool complement to the black with limo tint windows and the other add-ons.kamuro a écrit :Seriously ? -Tint (obviously)
-Black wheels, black center caps, black nuts
-Emblems: shaved or blackened
-Exhaust tip: black
-Headlights: opened and blackened
-Tailights: darkened
-Calipers: Black
-Reflectors: gone
-Everything chrome must go (plastidip is your friend here)
Once you're done you'll notice you've missed one little thing: that key hole on your handles! So get out your magic marker and go nuts. Kidding: apply a small round vinyl on it and heat it up a little bit. Who needs keys anyway.
