I will have to get it registered in Quebec once I settle in, are any inspections involved ?

Out here, we dont need to pass a yearly emission test.

I do however think that you will need to pass a generic test if you want to register your car in quebec.

You will need a provincial inspection from the SAAQ( Société de l'Assurance Automobile du Québec) and it cost around 125$ if I remember correctly if your car is already registered in Canada and if not, you will also need a federal inspection done at Canadian Tire.
