La pédale était bien dure, les pads étaient juste trop chaud.
Ça confirme que sur un Civic ou un Golf du HP+ c'est OK, mais pas sur un char de 3200 lbs.

Es-tu en train de me dire que les EBC Green sont mieux?

ca fait de la poussiere sans bon sens pis si tu criss pas les brakes au fond, ben ca crie faque pour les balades en famille... c'est pas l'idéal

Moi aussi pu jamais.. ca fade vite.. mes mags etaient NOIR en permanence ca fait un bruit d'enfer.. pas du tout aimé..

Bon ben pour en ajouter un peu...
ce matin, je pars de chez moi, j'arrive au coin de rue...
pas de pédale... passe drette au stop (mais ben raide !!!! ) pompe, pompe, pompe... CCCHHRKSKKAEKTRKRGRFM (ouff le son affreux)
fini par braker... débarque du char, la brigadière qui me regarde tout croche... arrive en avant du char, regarde les roues... 2 belles traces de metal sur les disques... Je m'étais braké avec les rivets des "plaquettes"
revire de bord... arrive chez moi... les plaquettes s'étaient délaminées et gisaient sur le sol

It is obvious that the Hawk brakes, when left down to the rivets and being used in cold weather ( where they were never designed to do) may leave you with less desirable braking impressions.
Any pads, for it to work well , needs to have some material left.

After 10 years of introducing, referring and selling Hawk products it is hard to say that they are really bad.
What is most important is that you find the pad that works for your needs. Hawk is not perfect, nor do they claim to be, they need to be used in the proper situations.

I am disappointed to hear about your bad experience with Hawks.

You misunderstood Carl, he had plenty of pad left, but the material fell in his driveway. And when he got to the first stop, he had to pump the pedal to fill the void left by the pad material until the rivets hit the disc.

This is scary.

Wow, I understand better now. Delamination can be very scary indeed. I think however it is an isolated case, although unfortunate. I have not seen many delaminated pads over the past 15 years of Motorsports...but it can happen.
I would be curious to see the delaminated pads to see why it happened. sometimes our harsh winters with the calcium can affect the bonding abilities of the pads. Maybe the pads didnt like the cold......hard to say, but I agree it is a cause for concern.

BTW...when will you pick up you trophy?

What I can say about it...
I've installed the pads last december, removed em after St-Félicien lapping weekend in july because they faded on the discs. And I put them back for the rallom on last october. Since they still had some pad left, i deceided to keep them until the end of their live (maybe the entire winter) But... you know the end of the story...

Now I will try something else...
