Newbie here - looking to buy an Impreza...

Message par Johnny Bravo »

Hey there guys. Bonjour.

Je parle pas (ecrire??) tres bien francais desole... I can read, though

I found out about this board a while ago and I have been lurking for a moment now. I'm currently on the lookout for a good deal on a used Impreza, and I found this one on Hebdo.net:

MY99 Impreza TS - 108,000km
4 door, automatic (yeah well... it's cheap, I think!), alarm, remote car starter, silver/black, dealer service, non-smoker, $13500...

I know it has high mileage, but regardless of that, what do you guys think? I don't have many details though, but for a first look, do you guys think it looks good? It's one of the cheapest around and it's in some corner of Quebec I don't know of yet, so it might be a good strike.

I'll try to attach a picture.

Tell me what you guys think... I'm a newbie at this, really... don't laugh at me if it's a fraud or something. :)

Lates,
J.

You can reply in french if you want, I don't mind.

Looks alright to me... Can't really judge a car from pics and the description, a long test drive always helps. :)

But... automatic? erk, imo save up and go find a manual - automatics put me to sleep :)

I have to agree with Rick ! I had a 99 TS with auto trans. (not this one ;) ) for a year and I got bored. Even though the car was fun to drive, the automatic transmission was killing me. So, I managed to survive by buying a 98RS and I'm MUCH more happy since then :D :D

If you want an automatic and you think the car is in shape (after a test drive, of course) I'd say, go for it cause the price seems good to me. However, if you like "driving" and reving the engine a little, wait for a manual, it'll be worth it.

Good things happen to those who wait (from a chinese cookie ;) )

Nice nickname ! I like that show !

108 000 km, the warranty just expired ! Altough that car is quite sturdy, I'd go for a bit less mileage and have it checked completely.

Yet I believe your better of with that Impraze than with any americain car...

There is a nice selection of Imprezas for sale just here ! Have you taken a look ?
