FS: 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX
Hello everyone.
I unfortunately have to sell my Subaru Impreza WRX.
It's been a learning experience and I do think I will come back to Subaru ownership in the future. But for now I need the money and I do not need 2 cars.
I always has a soft spot for the Impreza Hatchback, and I got the opportunity to get one for cheap from a friend.
So I purchased it for 4500$ with a blown Turbo and and a problem with the pedals.
I originally got quoted 2000-2500$ by a friend who is a pretty decent mechanic, a specialist in Honda/Acura but... not that great on Subaru unfortunately.
Repairs took too long as he's overworked and the car ended up having many surprises but after 2 months of patience and unfortunately 4100$+ of repair cost, the Subaru is ready and running wonderfully.
Car has 171 000KM
Body is in very good shape. Minor scratches but clean overall.
Front bumper is solid, but tied with a screw and tierap on 1 side.
Repairs are the following.
New Turbo / Oil return line.
New Timing belt
Clutch changed by another mechanic according to previous owner, 1 year / 10 000 km ago.
Clutch pedals replaced for STI pedals. (Old pedals were cracked)
Clutch Pedal welds against firewall has been fixed. Multiple Rivets.
All brakes have been replaced.
Front Wheel barings have been changed.
Alignment been done elsewhere, they confirmed everything suspension is in great shape.
I am now running the car as my daily as my other car gets finished. (I am not one who buys new cars, I like to get a used one and fix it up, so I know what part is in what shape...)
Car is on Winter tires, that are good for 1 last winter.
Comes with a set of Summer tires that are in good shape.
The Flaws with the car
MAF Sensor is bad. I ordered a replacement and will receive it next week.
OEM Denso. Car is running with the MAF unplugged and drives quite smoothly regardless... I look forward to seeing the CEL light and Traction Control go away.
As stated above, front bumper has screw holes.
The bottom skirt of the car was painted black in a ghetto way... Previous owner...
I am looking for 8900$ negotiable

You are right, I just tested with a different browser that didn't login to photobucket.
Ill try to fix this right away.
Edit.
Resolved
Photobucket no longer allows linking pictures on forums unless you pay...
So, this google+ link should work.
Thank you.

Re: FS: 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX
To my knowledge it is.
Ill check the ID number on registry to be sure... Ill slap myself in the face if it isn't.
Edit, you scared me.
It's a WRX according to the following.

Re: FS: 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX
Like skullmurdoc, I'm confused as it's badged as an impreza, not a WRX. And it's not just a matter of the WRX badge being removed, as the "impreza" badge should then have been higher, closer to the taillight(as the WRX badge is underneath it, so the "imperza" has to move up to make space). Maybe the car was damaged and they replaced the hatch with an Impreza hatch? Is it considered VGA (véhicule gravement accidenté) by the SAAQ?

A clear shot of the rear bumper with exhaust, or engine bay, would also help us determinate whether or not it's a WRX.

Si on entre le 'vin' sur internet le trim est bel et bien WRX.
Il n'y a donc pas de doute sur ça.. !

Re: FS: 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX
This is clearly a 2009-224hp version (aka not a WRX265).
The base WRX with the 224hp engine had pretty much the same interior as an Impreza, for example: no radio control on steering wheel.

Re: FS: 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX
Anyways, Saw your add up on kijiji, which will probably be a better bet. Whoever is interested will look into the fact that the hatch has possibly been replaced (or won't give a Fkuc!)..
GLWS!

Re: FS: 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX
Wow. Lots of activity on my thread.
It is not a VGA car.
I had someone check it out and he seemed pretty thorough about it.
He looked at the rear hatch and looked for signs of an accident, he did not find any and was very satisfied with the body.
The Denso MAF I ordered has been received, Ill install this today and hope the CEL light will go away.
Also got myself a code reader in case there still is a code so I can research it.
Anyways, I need this car gone before end of week as I have my other car that will be ready soon.
8000$ for the WRXLess looking WRX
Question as clearly you guys know a lot about the topic of this car.
Is it normal the clutch is so hard ?
It works perfectly, it's just... well last time I drove a car with such a hard clutch it was a 1987 Camaro Iroc-Z... I guess I am just not used to sports car.
Also the car has a nice Blowoff noise every time i release the accelerator.
Is that stock on WRX's or did the previous owner add a loud blowoff valve ?

Re: FS: 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX
for the clutch, they are indeed kinda stiff, but they shouldn't be THAT stiff. It's a sporty car, but it's no race car either.
for the blowoff sound, is it a big PSHHHHT sound of quite a faint sound? Stock WRXs have a bypass valve. (100% of the air is returned to the engine). It does make a sound similar to a blowoff but way more faint as no air is vented in the atmosphere. Many people replace it with an aftermarket BOV. they can vent all air in the atmosphere or return part of it in the engine and vent the rest. Some are adjustable, some aren't.
There are discussions on the subject and many people argue about it's effect on the engine. The opinion I made for myself by reading about it and also from my experience with a 50/50 BOV on my 2004 WRX was that it'S really not that bad. you run rsuper rich for a fraction of a second when air is vented outside. The MAF being before the BOV, the vented air has been registered so the ECU will send gas to be burnt with it. You'l run rich for a fraction of a second as a result of this. This may, over time, gunk your cats. I ran my 50/50 BOV for 4 years and had absolutely no problems. using a 100% atmospheric BOV might be worse, I have no experience with those.
we can tell you if it's a BPV, a 100% atmospheric BOV or an adjustable 50/50 if you post a few pictures of it under a couple angles. Should be bolted on the intercooler. They can have a few diffrent shapes, just look at various models on google images, should give you an idea of what to look for.
I don't think the valve being a BOV or a BPV would change anything about the value of the car.
