Real quick question since we are talking about drifting in the snow... keep in mind I have a 2012 WRX...

So there's the VDC and traction control, traction control will reduce engine torque when the sensors detect torque wheel slippage or a scenario when it thinks the car is getting "out of control"

and VDC will work with ABS to act as an electronic LSD. It brakes the wheels depending on inputs from the sensors

I can turn off the traction control in the WRX but NOT the VDC....which mean if I drift a lof my brakes will be gone very fast no?

The VDC will do what it has to do to get control back! If breaking is one of them, yes, you'll go through brakes! Keep in mind though that not much pressure on the pads itself is exerted since the abs will prevent lock-up! The sad part is you won't be able to really push the car since it will conter-react as to what you want it to do.

Actually, there are three different things at play: traction control, stability system and electronic control that replaces the LSD in the back.
The first two are disabled using the button but the third remains on. I've tested that on my 2008 and 2011 both on ice/snow and dirt. With the systems disabled, both rear wheels still trace equal lines on the road.
As for the brakes, stock rear brakes didn't last long on both my WRXs. Actually lasted even shorter on my 2011 which is less abused than my 2008 was.
And the rear brakes lasted pretty much the same time on my wife's Forester. Bad calibration, cheap stock brakes I don't know.
But frankly, the price I pay for rear brakes" I don't really care. I usually buy them while on vacation in States.

where are you getting them and how much?

Last time, Autozone in New Hampshire.
Approx. 120$ for rear rotors and pads.

Wais je suis a Jonquière et c'est fou !! Ca tombe non-stop depuis 24 heures et ca continue, en plus d'avoir déjà eu 2 autres bordés dans la dernière semaine. Ya déjà des bancs de neige de 2-3 pieds de haut en face de chez nous

Mon maudieseleux à enfin du torque mongol, pareil comme mon sti mais ma clutch 6 puck kevlar/céramique veut pu suivre... Ça fait juste 50000km que je l'ai... Je peut même pu écraser le gaz sur l'autoroute à 120... J'aime mon char lol
