What gear do you use when you are leaving from a full stop at a light or stop sign when you are making a right turn? I am new to driving manual, and it seems like if I leave from 1st gear I have to shift again very shortly since the revs build very fast as they should. I was just wondering if there is a better way to do it. Or do I just need to get better at driving manual

I got my Z about a month and a half ago and I posted something about how I was having trouble learning stick, as this is my fist manual car. Well, good news... Finally got that down pretty well now.
However, I still don't understand shifting down. My boyfriend (now ex) drives a Crossfire, and he was explaining to me one day that when you shift down, you go faster.
Someone please explain this to me, because I don't understand. Anytime I try to shift down my engine revs up to 5500 or so and I think I have just raped my car.

c'est vrais que ca fait dure par boute ici,y pence pas pereil,y peuvent se casser la tete pour des affaire tellement niaiseuse,je vais bien devenir dememe avec le temps

Maintenant, on comprend mieux pourquoi une grande partie voitures américaines ne sont disponibles qu'en automatique... La loi du moindre effort est née pour eux.

Personnellement, j'ai suivi mon cours de conduite manuel et j'ai toujours eu des autos manuelles (sauf une superbe Pontiac 6000 golden 1986 ) et je ne vois pas le jour où je vais changer pour une automatique.

1- Ce sont des jeunes de 17-18 ans qui se sont fait payer un Z par leur parents pour avoir eu un 'beau bulletin'...

2- Les Z sont des voitures performantes, mais pour être 'cool' ces jeunes vont demander un kit Twin turbo pour Noel

3- À la première manoeuvre d'urgence ou de perte de traction des roues arrières... (voir numéro 4)

I used to stall at least once a day, but now it is better. I drove my Z to work today without any problems, but after work and running around, I still stalled a few times.

I just have such a slow time going from a complete stop. If I am coming to a rolling stop 4-5 mph, I still tend to keep my car in 2nd gear so I don't have to shift from 1st to 2nd...but the car feels like it wants to give out if I go any slower (obviously). Do you guys suggest I shift to 1st instead of hanging in 2nd gear?

J'ai vu à Trois-Rivières une femme dans la cinquantaine avec une belle BMW 325ix E30 (les vieux modèles râres) manuelle qui a dû oublier de clutcher en changeant de vitesse... Le bruit que ça a fait, ayoye, j'en avait mal au coeur (et aux oreilles)!

if ur in 6th @ legal speed (65mph) for economy then just blip it into 3rd
thats what i'd do...
maybe Kolia can enlighten me, but i do think downshifting + brakes stop more aggressively than just hitting the brakes...
