- Fix rocker panels (temporary)
- Fix rear brakes DONE
- Replace strut mounts (front)
- Replace rear axle DONE
- Replace driver side valve cover gasket, temp sensor, intake gasket, fuel filter DONE
Did the engine work on Thursday and runs much better now... in fact so good that I blew out my manifold at the head yesterday. Nothing 30 mins and some mig welding couldn't fix. I have a spare but I will be using it to build a jig in order to fit a custom UEL single port header if my turbo project doesn't work. Pics of the car to come.

I have looked at the rocker rust... forget it. The passenger side has through 3 of the 4 layers of shee metal, and will require major surgery. I may be considering finding a clean GC/GF shell or roller and swap all of my mechanicals.

Or Texas or Nebraska... I'm headed out towards Lincoln, NE for Formula SAE competition next June, so I'm not limiting my search to Quebec. For all I know, if I spot a nice SVX I will gladly tow/drive it home to do a 5-sp swap. My mind is open knowing that I have the possibility of a full 20ft trailer with tools as a support truck if I do indeed drive it most of the way back.

Well, it's over. Snapped a timing belt on Hwy 20 last Monday and the engine is finished. At first I was thinking of swapping, but I've already got a VW Rabbit diesel project that has to be assembled by the end of next week AND school restarting soon after that... not enough time. I did find a nice E34 BMW 525i to fill the gap and get me around until the Rabbit is done and ready for commuter use at which point the BMW is turning into my summer-only luxury grand touring sedan that I will take to the autocross or track once in a while... and everything that might be a potential problem, can be replaced with performance parts for less than the stock components.

Parting out the Subaru shortly...
